Using an Index

This mini-lesson is designed to be used as a guide while teaching about non-fiction writing. The leson guides students through the 5 keys of using an index to locate information.

Editing Informational Writing

This lesson was used during an information writing unit to prepare students for the writing PSSA. The teacher lead students through all of the steps of the writing process in order to write an informational travel brochure. This lesson focused on the editing strategy using "C.O.P.S."

Phonemic Awareness

This lesson was created for Kindergarten students to help them develop phonemic awareness by matching beginning sounds. In this lesson, students make sound soup using the "s" sound.

Center Lesson Plan - Library Center

While creating a management portfolio, I put together a rotation of 6 activities (Library, Listening, Pocket Charts, Word Work, Read/Write Around the Room & Read with the Teaher/Guided Reading). Each activity included tiered lesson plans (4 levels in the classroom) which were organized by color. This is a sample lesson and worksheet designed to guide students through the Library Center.
